APRIL ART EXHIBITION - Inspiration and Imagination by Roy Hill

Roy Hill was born in London, England on 12th of September 1935.  His artistic talent was discovered and nurtured at an early age.  Roy attended art classes at Norwich City College and continued advanced studies at Art School.  Roy travelled extensively for eight years in Europe, the Middle East and Asia before settling down in Thailand.  Since then he has continued to produce a variety of works as well as teaching art to an international list of students of all ages.  Roy has had art exhibitions in London, Penang, Vientiane and Bangkok.

Roy is capable of handling a large number of different mediums and styles: oil, watercolour, pen and ink, jewellery, book and magazine covers.  His subject matter is as diverse; ranging from abstract to realism.

This art exhibition entitled Inspiration and Imagination expresses all of his past experiences and fascination with pathways and gateways, in different places, into a 3-dimensional format.  This format allows Roy to showcase a mixture of all his skills in different mediums and brings to the fore a brand new collection using various kinds of materials including old wood.  Three-dimensional artworks tend to be sculptural pieces but Roy has used a unique method of framing that has allowed these art pieces to be wall mounted.

The scenery in Roy’s Inspiration and Imagination will surely allow the art appreciator to identify with the artist and also have a feeling of nostalgia.
