Takahide Akiyama's father, Iwao Akiyama, is the most famous woodblock artist in Japan and
his son is not far behind him. We have had two of his father's successful art exhibitions over the last two years and now
it's the son's turn. In his own words, he says,
"I am standing here and enjoying myself so much that I'm wondering where my happiness is coming from.
"I have my cutting knife in my right hand.
"And my left hand supports the woodblock.
"I see my samurais running, fighting and drinking on the woodblock.
"They know their battle has already finished.
"They come to invite us to have happy times and peacefulness.
"Still, they keep on running, fighting and drinking for endless pleasure."
